Flat and Fast: Phuckit Racing tackles Lake Toho at P1 AquaX St. Cloud
Team Phuckit returned to Lake Tohopekaliga in St. Cloud, Florida this past Saturday to take on Round 2 of the P1 AquaX Florida Championship series. A far cry from the rough and tough conditions they saw at Daytona Beach in April, the weekend’s two lake races were flat, fast, and furious, and the field of amateur racers saw speeds in excess of 68mph.
After her victory in Round 1, the pressure was on for team rider Amanda LeCheminant who was still recovering from the injuries she sustained in Daytona’s brutal surf. Despite giving it her all and pushing her ski to its limits, she finished 4th in the 200hp class, but has held on to her lead in the class for the season.
For team rider George Holmquist, the weekend presented another frustrating set of races as he was still unable to get his ski to function at its best. Although he placed just outside of the top ten for the weekend, he raced hard and put up a solid fight amongst the racers in the 300hp class.
With the only lake race of the season behind them, the team now has their sights on the third round of the Florida Championship series, taking place on June 17th and 18th in St. Pete Beach!View Full Gallery
